South Downtown's first ever Chess Tournament, at least in this century! All are welcome - open to all ages and skill levels.
Location: Games must be played either at Spiller Park Coffee (Mitchell St) or ATV Sylvan Lobby (we'll have chess boards setup).
Duration: Multi-week (exact number of weeks depends on total participants), weekdays only (M-F, 8 a.m.–4 p.m.). Each round lasts 1 week. Paired opponents will be responsible for meeting up and playing their match. Any no-shows will count as a forfeit.
Format: Single-elimination, one match at a time
Time Control: 10 minutes per player (rapid/blitz format) using chess clocks
There is a First Place Prize of $500 in gift cards to South Downtown businesses.
